Exclusive: Liverpool open to Harvey Blair sale
Despite impressing in pre-season, Harvey Blair looks set to join the exodus of young talent from Anfield this summer.
Liverpool are open to allowing academy prospect Harvey Blair to leave in a permanent transfer this summer.
The 20-year-old is attracting interest from Championship outfit Portsmouth among others, and the Reds would not stand in his way should an acceptable offer arrive.
A loan might have been expected for Blair after he impressed during a pre-season spent with Arne Slot’s first team.
Having also featured against Real Betis and Arsenal, the Huddersfield-born forward was one a select group of youngsters retained to face Manchester United in the final fixture of the Reds’ tour of the US.
However, he could now join a growing exodus of young talent from Anfield this summer as Slot and new sporting director Richard Hughes put their stamp on the squad.
To that end, Bobby Clark is close to sealing a £10m move to RB Salzburg, while 18-year-old winger Ben Doak would also be allowed to depart permanently.
There will be no shortage of suitors for Blair, who had consistently showcased his talent at academy level prior to an injury-hit 2023-24 camaign.
And he will now hope to get the chance to prove he can do similar at senior level in the coming season.
Like Portsmouth, Reading have also been credited with an interest in Blair in recent months.
How strange.
