It has often felt like this summer has been slowly building towards a Luis Diaz departure from Liverpool.

In the months prior to the window opening, it was reported that both club and player would be open to the idea, and the subsequent revelations regarding the Reds’ interest in Anthony Gordon did little to quell speculation.

Now, with the deadline coming into view, suggestions Barcelona are preparing a swoop have begun to ramp up, seemingly teeing up that long-trailed exit.
