The Reds appear to have rather suddenly emerged as an attractive destination for the world's most coveted players, but in truth this development is the culmination of a slow build.
With five signings through the door and more to come, Liverpool fans are enjoying the most lavish summer of spending in the club’s modern history.
But it is not the amount being spent that is the most thrilling aspect of this window for supporters - rather it is the identity of those being both signed and targeted.
For example, it is hard to imagine a player better than Florian Wirtz moving between two European clubs before the September deadline arrives.
Only 22 years of age and already a superstar, the German turned down interest from Manchester City and Bayern Munich to enter his peak at Anfield.
The same is true of Milos Kerkez, who only had eyes for Liverpool once it emerged that they were interested in taking him from Bournemouth this summer.
And what about those links to Alexander Isak, which would surely have been dismissed by now if either player or club had no interest in a move materialising?
